Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2026-08-24

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Money Badger Mafia, a service provided by James Piquette (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Seller

Money Badger Mafia is operated by James Piquette. You are entering into these Terms with James Piquette. Any references to “Money Badger Mafia” in these Terms refer to the service and brand owned and operated by James Piquette.

2. The service

Money Badger Mafia is a Canadian portfolio tracker for personal use. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own decisions and for verifying any calculations with a qualified professional.

3. Financial and tax disclaimer

We are not financial advisors, registered investment advisers, tax professionals, or accountants. Nothing in the app — including portfolio values, yields, adjusted cost base, tax-slip boxes, marginal-rate estimates, line 22100 savings, or any CRA-related output — constitutes professional advice. All information is provided for personal tracking and education only. You must verify every figure with a qualified registered tax professional or financial adviser before relying on it for filing, investing, or borrowing decisions.

4. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not misuse the service or attempt to access data that is not yours.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful purposes or fraud.
  • Spam, scrape, reverse engineer, or probe the systems.
  • Infringe intellectual property or others’ rights.
  • Interfere with security measures or attempt unauthorised access.

6. Payments

The app is free. There are no subscriptions, memberships, or paid tiers, and no payment processor is involved. If you choose to send a voluntary tip by Interac e-Transfer, it is a gift: nothing is sold, nothing is delivered in return, and tips are not refundable.

7. Intellectual property

James Piquette owns the service, branding, code, and documentation. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service according to your plan.

8. Service level

We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Market data and tax figures may be delayed or incorrect; always verify independently.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, James Piquette is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, data loss, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the prior 12 months. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where required by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
